Westworld Certainly Proves the Park’s Location

Since Westworld premiered in 2016, observers have questioned where Delos’ six sprawling topic parks are placed. In the Season 1 end, Finish subtitles seemed to fall away coordinates that fans followed back to the Spratly Islands, in the South China Sea. Still, nothing was ever proved. But with the Season 3 premiere, believers have got recognition as Jeffrey Wright’s Bernard Lowe, soon a fugitive attempts to respond to the site of the massacre. The coordinates could easily have been an error or misdirection. Admitted, the HBO drama before mentioned China’s military and…

Coronavirus Pandemic: Hold China Accountable

Xi Jinping, the head of the Chinese Communist Party, at a hospital in Wuhan, China, on March 10, 2020 (Xie Huanchi / Xinhua via Reuters) In any just and lawful setting, actors who recklessly pursue hazardous activities would be held accountable for foreseeable harm caused to others. In the winter of 2002–2003, the deadly SARS coronavirus exploded out of China’s ‘wet-blood’ wildlife markets. SARS infected over 8,000 people worldwide and killed almost 800. Yet post-crisis, China laxly enforced bans on the offending markets, only to permit them to flourish soon…

China has long used propaganda in its efforts to undercut American power. Usually, it’s been subtle—a stiletto hidden beneath a velvet sleeve. But Beijing now appears to think it’s time to jump the shark. Hence, their outrageous claim that Beijing has “led” the global response to the pandemic. Another Chinese whopper holds that the U.S. spread COVID-19 to China. Cleary, Beijing’s war of words against the United States has entered a new phase. The United States has been pushing back, and rightly so. Too often in the past we’ve seen…

China is putting a bulls-eye on U.S. Navy warships with electromagnetic weapons

China has called for using electromagnetic attacks on U.S. warships transiting the South China Sea, according to a state-run Chinese outlet. The Communist Party-affiliated organ Global Times, quoting a military expert, said the use of nonlethal electromagnetic and laser weapons should be used by the People’s Liberation Army to expel American warships from the disputed sea. The report followed China’s potentially dangerous use of a laser against a Navy P-8A maritime patrol aircraft near Guam last month, and an earlier lasing two years ago of C-130 aircraft near China’s military…

China has embarked on a global goodwill campaign, by providing aid in an attempt to win over the hearts of millions of people affected by and suffering from the fallout of the coronavirus pandemic. Is this a genuine effort of atonement by the country that gave birth to the novel coronavirus, while keeping a lid on the whole affair, allowing COVID-19 to spread relentlessly across the world? Or is it part of a charm offensive, trying to make political capital out of the concerns of Europeans, primarily countries where China…
